Quote 2 to make you think!

Today we focused on many things. To bring everything around, we spoke about our website and signed everyone on. We also discussed what was expected in the responses. What is expected is at least 3-5 sentences writing about the quote.

Next we discussed the grammar journal. What you are to do is buy a notebook and write all your information about grammar in the notebook. You can be as creative as you want to be with the notebook, but we will be checking to make sure you are keeping your notebook up to date. Remember to write which grammar problem you will be wanting to correct and any questions in you journals.

Next write a cinquain. This poem is in the shape of a diamond and focuses on one noun. Everyone is expected to come to class with this prepared. No writing it in class. You will not
receive points for it if you do so. Some of you were observed doing this today, but you will not receive full points for the Haiku you turned in.

Finally, please bring in a newspaper article or story you liked. We will discuss why you liked it. We will continue our focus on words and how they work in sentences and explaining meaning. You are a great class! Keep up the great work.

Julia and Dorinda

Welcome!!!!

We spoke of a lot of things today in class about writing. One of the things we spoke of was learning to write without fear so we could correct our grammar errors and enjoy write. We spoke of Haiku and don't forget to write your Haiku for tomorrow. The other assignment, which will be daily, is to respond to a quote. We will post a quote daily and you will need to think about what it means. Once you have decided what it means, write your ideas, your reaction, to the quote and post it on the web page. Remember to use no translator to write this response. It must be in your own English; not someone else's English. Use whatever tools you need such as a dictionary or thesaurus. We look forward to reading your finely crafted created English.
